Part of the Bakoven skies series, this painting is based on views from the artist's studio window in Cape Town, South Africa. Bakoven is named after a weathered outcrop of rock in the bay that resembles a bake oven, with skies that change dramatically throughout the day and across the seasons.
This work captures the Cape Doctor, the strong south-easterly wind that sweeps through Cape Town during the summer months.
